Students reading below the 4th grade level who need spelling help should view the phonics lessons. The phonics lessons have all the spelling information contained in these spelling lessons, but the phonics lessons cover the spelling information at a slower pace. They are also self teaching.
Another option for students reading below the 4th grade level are the syllables lessons. They require a parent or tutor to help, but are easy to use with video doing most of the teaching. They are shorter than the phonics lessons but teach all the same spelling rules.
These spelling lessons teach the sound spelling correspondences of phonics and spelling, and basic phonetic spelling and syllable division rules and patterns. They are boring but effective.
